Mail truck to Merch truck - WFTF is not going to let 2021 get in the way of this build!

Are you tired of sitting in your house, waiting for things to change, waiting for 'the right time'? Well here at Wrenching For The Future we are MORE then ready to get going. During the week of January 16 through the 23rd at our home base in Stillwater, MN a bunch of the guys from the board and from our group of advocates will start the build that will become the 'Merch Truck' for WFTF merchandise.

They are taking a 1959 Chevy Mail Truck and bringing it back to life. Its going to get a 12 valve Cummins, 5 speed swap, a dually rear end and air bags to start. The inside will be cleaned up and painted so that the merchandise stays nice and clean, but don't get me wrong it will be a Rat Rod through and through with an original patina body no doubt.

We are hoping there might be some kids who would want to come by and help work on it -- giving them a true Wrenching For The Future experience. They can learn welding, plasma torching, grinding, using an impact tool, a Sawzall and hand tools too many to mention. The main point is you can have an opportunity to try something, learn, get your hands dirty all for a great cause. Tell your friends - you never know who might be interested in learning something about auto mechanics, fabrication etc.

As always there is a wish list for parts and supplies. We are looking for either monetary or in kind donations:
  • 6 matching 16 inch tires
  • any brake components for a 1 ton 1980 Chevy
  • nicopp brake lines
  • steering knuckles
  • any auto part store gift cards
Anything not used in this build will be donated to another build.

If interested in either participating or donating please get a hold of Roger E Quast 651-353-2535.
