Arizona build is coming to fruition!

We have all been patiently waiting since March of 2020 to get anything done -- most everyone has had most of their lives put on hold or altered in some way. Our programs are no different. Thankfully all of our sponsors have stuck behind us and people throughout the country continue to champion our cause -- getting kids exposed to tools, working with their hands, and using their creative brain and logical brain at the same time. Showing kids that they can learn a trade, make really cool stuff and make a living without having to get a 4/5/6 year college degree.

We have a commitment and the first 'official' build working with kids in a high school setting will take place at Round Valley High School in Springerville/Eagar, Arizona. The build will take place the week of April 19th 2021 and will end by driving the vehicle into the Chrome In The Dome car show that Saturday just a couple blocks from the auto shop class. The build team will be limited and the number of people and kids participating at any given time will be much more limited and monitored for capacity reasons.

Starting at Round Valley High brings us full circle. This high school is the birth place of Wrenching For the Future as in the spring of 2019 we worked with a team of builders and kids to create a rat rod in 1 week. That week changed many people's lives. We exposed kids to torching, welding, fabricating and designing a running, driving, SAFE vehicle. Dylan Jordan is the proud owner of that Rat Rod that you can see in some photos below that were from the build in 2019.

The specifics of this new build for 2021 are still being fleshed out but this is what we know. It will be a 1952 Ford F1 Gasser Service Truck. It will have a small block Chevy engine, 350 transmission, a dually rear end out of a camper.

Build team members will be chosen and contacted by either Wrenching For the Future or Chrome In The Dome. If you are not on the build team but would still like to be involved, we are accepting donations, either monetary or parts for the build. As soon as we have a list of parts needed for the build, we will post them on our Facebook page.

Monetary donations can be made to Wrenching For The Future via Paypal by this link -- please choose the note that says AZ 2021Build so we know where to allocate the funds or you can send a check to Wrenching For The Future, 4877 Northbrook Blvd N, Stillwater, MN 55082. Wrenching For The Future is a registered 501c3 non profit organization so your donations may be tax deductible.
